Garment Care

Caring for printed garments, whether they're graphic t-shirts, hoodies, or other types of clothing, requires some specific steps to ensure the longevity of the print and the overall garment. Here's a guide on how to care for printed garments:

  1. Read the Care Label: Always start by checking the care label on the garment. This will provide you with specific instructions tailored to the fabric and printing method used.

  2. Washing:

    • Turn the garment inside out before washing. This protects the printed design from friction and abrasion.
    • Use cold water (20°C OR 68°F)  for washing. Hot water can cause the fabric to shrink and the print to crack or fade.
    • Choose a gentle cycle on your washing machine to minimize agitation.
  3. Detergent:

    • Use a mild, color-safe detergent to avoid damaging the print and the fabric.
    • Avoid using bleach or harsh detergents, as they can weaken the fabric fibers and fade the print.
  4. Separate Colors:

    • Wash similar colors together to prevent color bleeding. This is especially important for garments with multiple colors in the print.
  5. Avoid Overloading:

    • Don't overload the washing machine. Overcrowding can lead to excessive friction and potential damage to the print.
  6. Drying:

    • Air drying is preferable for printed garments. Lay the garment flat on a clean towel to dry.
    • If using a dryer, use a low heat setting. High heat can cause the fabric to shrink and the print to crack or fade.
  7. Ironing:

    • If you must, iron the garment inside out on a low to medium heat setting. Avoid direct contact with the print by placing a thin cloth between the iron and the garment.
  8. Storage:

    • Fold the garment neatly to avoid creasing the print. Hanging might cause the fabric to stretch over time.
    • Store printed garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
  9. Avoid Harsh Conditions:

    • Avoid exposing printed garments to excessive sunlight or extreme temperatures, as these factors can cause the colors to fade.
  10. Spot Cleaning:

    • For small stains, try spot cleaning with a mild detergent and water. Blot the area gently; avoid rubbing vigorously.
  11. Test New Products:

    • Before using any new stain removers, detergents, or other cleaning products, test them on an inconspicuous area of the garment to ensure they don't affect the print.
  12. Be Gentle:

    • Handle your printed garments gently to prevent unnecessary stress on the fabric and print.

Following these care guidelines will help maintain the vibrant appearance of your printed clothing items.
